Comparison
Google Review Software Comparison
Four tools that help a service business get Google reviews, compared on what their own websites say: Podium, Birdeye, NiceJob and Own Your Ratings (ours). They split into two camps. Podium, Birdeye and NiceJob automate review requests and add AI and marketing features. Own Your Ratings automates nothing: it prepares the request and you send it from your own phone.
Every competitor fact below is linked to the competitor’s own page, checked October 2, 2026. Anything we couldn’t find there is marked “not stated”, not guessed.

Which one fits you
- Podium if you want reviews inside an all-in-one platform with phones, webchat, payments and an AI Employee, and are fine with a sales conversation for pricing. Podium vs Own Your Ratings.
- Birdeye if you run many locations or a franchise and want AI agents handling reviews and responses at every location. Birdeye vs Own Your Ratings.
- NiceJob if you use Jobber, QuickBooks or Square and want requests and follow-ups to go out automatically, plus AI replies and marketing tools, at a published price. NiceJob vs Own Your Ratings.
- Own Your Ratings if you are an owner-operator or small crew who wants each request to come from your own number, sent when you decide, with a free plan and Pro at a published price.
What to check before you choose
Who sends the message
From your own phone number, or from the platform? Customers open texts from numbers they know.
Automatic or by hand
Automation saves time; sending by hand keeps you in control of timing and wording. Pick the one you will actually use.
What you will pay
A published price and a trial, or a quote. Check what is included and whether there is a contract.
Whether it keeps you within Google’s rules
Google prohibits selectively asking for positive reviews and offering incentives (Google’s policy). A tool should send the same link to every customer.

Frequently asked questions
Which Google review software is best for a small contractor?
It depends on how you want to work. If you want requests sent automatically from your job software, NiceJob publishes prices and integrates with Jobber, QuickBooks and Square. If you want to send each request yourself from your own phone, that is what Own Your Ratings does.
Are review request tools allowed by Google?
Yes. Google itself suggests sharing a link or QR code with customers (Google’s tips). What it prohibits is incentives and selectively asking for positive reviews.
Why don’t you list Podium’s or Birdeye’s prices?
Neither publishes prices on its website (checked October 2, 2026). Both ask you to contact sales.
Is this comparison neutral?
It is written by Own Your Ratings, so read it with that in mind. That is why every competitor fact links to the competitor’s own page, and why each tool’s strengths are stated.
